Want to play golf in the footsteps of John Daly?

Moore Park Golf

As the closest public golf course to the Sydney CBD, Moore Park Golf has attracted some wonderful, colourful and quirky characters over the years, but all with one interest in mind – to have a go of their favourite pastime, golf.

Recently we have seen Hollywood actors, television personalities, ex-cricketers, rugby league players and music entertainers hitting off the driving range, and you will regularly spot a few other celebrities throughout the week having a swing on the course.

And of course, famous golfers…

We were recently reminded of a visit not so long ago of a renowned US golfer and the day John Daly came to play!

What we can’t report…

What we can’t report are any walk-offs, disputes or incidents that usually get bandied about in the media.

What we can report…

What we can report is that John is a delightful and charming gentleman who happens to hit the ball a long, long, long, long way!

He was a guest appearing at the Australia v New Zealand Skins Challenge that was hosted at Moore Park Golf and – it’s an obvious statement, but – he can play!

Here’s some photos of the day John Daly came to play:

Now it’s your turn…

Follow in the footsteps of John Daly, Mark Wahlberg and many others by coming to Moore Park Golf for a hit. Not only is it one of the best public golf courses in Australia, we have a huge (and recently renovated) driving range to enjoy with a great bistro and bar just a few steps away to complete the perfect day out.

And it’s not just a male sport, golf is a growing sport for many women and girls, and as can be seen on this recent episode of Sydney Weekender, it’s not just a hit, but also a giggle!
