At Centennial Park you can choose from a variety of beautiful settings and backdrops for both ceremony and photography including formal gardens, wooded groves, open lawns, natural water features and many other secret spots you can discover. Our outdoor ceremony locations cater to groups of all sizes and are available 7 days a week.

#1: Paperbark Grove North

An iconic Centennial Park location, Paperbark Grove is a spectacular avenue of 250 grand paperbark trees that were planted in c1900. The wedding ceremony site is at the northern end of the grove which offers level ground and plenty of shade. The grove is close to Paddington Gates and Centennial Homestead, and offers direct access from Parkes Drive.

#2: Busby’s Promontory

In the heart of the Park, this area lies on the banks of Busbys Pond. It features soaring palm trees, lawns, beautiful garden beds and a grand column. Rows of trees on either side of the promontory offer privacy. The promontory is easily accessed from Dickens Drive. It is a short walk to Centennial Homestead and close to some of our most popular wedding photography spots.

 

#3: Between Lily and Duck Pond

The area between Lily Pond and Duck Pond is just divine

 

Lily Pond is a picture-perfect setting with an ornate white footbridge and a towering canopy of paperbark trees. The area is home to purple swamphens and black swans and offers an iconic Centennial Parklands location. The ceremony location is beneath the paperbarks between Lily and Duck Ponds and offers ample shade and direct access from Parkes Drive.

 

#4: Pine Grove

Pine Grove is a wooded wonderland!

 

This wild and natural landscape feels fairytale-like with a dense cluster of pine trees that force sunlight to dance gracefully on the forest floor. The ceremony site is at the eastern end of the grove and provides a shaded private setting adjacent to Loch Avenue.

 

#5: Column Garden

In the heart of Centennial Park this iconic location offers grandeur and a beautiful backdrop. This popular garden area features flower beds, lawns and hedges and a magnificent sandstone column dating back to 1890. Column Garden’s floral displays are subject to seasonal variation.

Wedding reception options

Set in the heart of Centennial Parklands are two inside wedding ceremony and reception locations – Centennial Homestead and The Residences.

Centennial Homestead

Deep in Centennial Park sits one of Sydney’s best kept secrets. Surrounded by rolling green lawns, wispy long grass fields, ponds and lakes, Centennial Homestead offers a number of indoor and outdoor spaces perfect for a picturesque garden ceremony and wedding.

The Homestead’s Wisteria Room boasts the perfect place for a picturesque wedding. With options for marquees and onsite ceremony locations, your dream garden party wedding has endless possibilities.

Surrounded by wild purple wisteria, Hampton’s style bi-folding doors opening directly onto the Park. Wisteria Room is the newest contemporary event space with the benefits of luxurious finishes.

With expansive lawns, The Homestead also have the perfect space for an extension marquee to the Wisteria room for additional space and opulence. Looking for a stand-alone marquee wedding with the added benefits of restaurant facilities, The Homestead also offer space for a marquee and their Kitchen space to use at your leisure.

The Residences

Centennial Park’s heritage listed Superintendent’s and Ranger’s residences were being beautifully restored in 2014 and converted into unique self-contained short-stay accommodation experiences. They both feature gracious heritage accommodation and are fine examples of Victorian-style architecture that provide full hotel service, modern amenities, Wi-Fi and a breakfast of bespoke and locally produced foods including Centennial Parklands honey produced in the park’s bee hives. The Superintendent’s Residence and Ranger’s Residence can cater for up to 10 and 6 people respectively.

The Residences have become a popular for bespoke event or garden celebrations. With the freedom to create your own event, you can truly explore your style. Celebrations at The Residences include exclusive use of the home from 3.00 pm to 11.00 am the next day, complimentary accommodation, an event planner, security and hands-on support on your special day. You are welcome to self-cater, or use third party caterers and BYO alcohol.

Centennial Park also has 10 picnic sites which can be booked for an informal daytime outdoor reception. We offer sites for up to 300 people and through the addition of some furniture, catering and decoration you can transform an already beautiful location into a stunning casual wedding reception.
